My Story
My Story
Hello,
I'm Pastor Joshua Horvath, and it's a pleasure to connect with you. I've spent seven years as the Associate Pastor at Calvary Lighthouse Church, a journey filled with diverse experiences and a deep commitment to spiritual leadership. Beyond the roles and responsibilities you'll find in my bio, my life is shaped by a dedication to service, a passion for ministry, and a commitment to the community of Rochelle.
At 26, I’ve been privileged to serve in many areas of ministry at Calvary Lighthouse Church. Alongside my fiancée, Glory, I’m involved in leading worship and prayer, as well as overseeing our church’s outreach efforts in the region. Together, we’re passionate about using these roles to reach people with the love of Christ and build bridges within the community. We are also launching our mobile coffee cart business, The Note, which will serve as both a ministry tool and a business to engage and connect with people throughout Rochelle.
My heart for ministry extends far beyond the church walls. I’ve led youth ministries, co-directed our vibrant youth program, Savior Behavior, managed sound and media during worship services, and delivered sermons that inspire and uplift. Additionally, I’m passionate about providing pastoral counseling to those in need and working on regional outreach programs.
In recent years, I’ve also explored creative ventures. Last Christmas, I wrote a children’s book titled Does Jesus Have a Belly Button?, which became a number one bestseller in the children’s books category. This spring, I helped launch the Impact Communion Chicago event with Lou Engle, connecting evangelical churches across the region. I also contributed to the initial planning and connection for A Million Woman Solemn Assembly, a significant gathering in Washington, D.C.
This past summer, Glory and I were involved in missions work across the Midwest, serving Venezuelan refugees, the homeless, and those in need. We met at The Send last winter, and we’re excited to begin our journey together, following God’s call to serve in the Rochelle region.
My global perspective has also deepened through my involvement in our church’s World 4 Jesus initiative. I’ve had the privilege of serving in countries like Ireland, the Philippines, and Ghana, sharing the Gospel and partnering with local churches to bring spiritual transformation.
I’m deeply committed to youth empowerment, global outreach, and fostering unity among churches. In all I do, I seek to live by Matthew 6:33: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” This verse guides my mission to inspire others, foster spiritual growth, and encourage positive change through faith, hope, and love.
This bio serves as a window into my world, where faith, dedication, and a passion for transformation take center stage. I’m excited to share my journey with you and to explore the many facets of my life and mission.
Warm regards,
Pastor Joshua Horvath
